A high-speed chase through Deerpark led to the driver’s arrest

New Jersey resident James Guerrero, 21, has been charged for allegedly driving recklessly in Orange County.

According to the Deerpark Police Department, an officer spotted Guerrero speeding on Highway 97 last week. Guerrero allegedly accelerated to 100 mph and began passing other drivers.

The car sped through Port Jervis before being stopped in Deerpark. Guerrero was charged with reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and reckless endangerment.

Police say Guerrero was part of a group that drove around Deerpark, Port Jervis and Sullivan County. He was released on an appearance ticket, but could face additional charges along with the other drivers in his group.
