Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill, New York

A New York woman has been found dead at a luxury resort and spa at an upscale hotel in the Hamptons, prompting a homicide investigation.

Sabina Rosas, 33, of Brooklyn, was found dead by an employee at the Water Mill, N.Y., resort on Monday, Suffolk County police said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

Police responded to a call to Shou Sugi Ban House at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, after Rosas’ body was found in a guest room. Investigators determined that Rosas was a “victim of violence,” the statement said.

“Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Homicide Unit are investigating the murder of a victim whose body was found in a guest room at the Water Mll Resort,” the statement said. “It was established that the woman was a victim of violence.”

Police believe this was a targeted attack and “appears to be an isolated incident,” Southampton Police said in a statement. NBC News. “There is no immediate danger to the population at this time,” the statement said.

As of Tuesday, the cause of death had not been determined as police are awaiting an autopsy report from the medical examiner’s office.

The Shou Sugi Ban House occupies “three acres of lush Hamptons forest,” per Goop review.

Shou Sugi Ban House did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
