Netflix’s new feature lets you bookmark scenes and share time-stamped links

  • Netflix has introduced a new Moments feature that makes it easy to share a scene and create bookmarks.

  • Users can share scenes with friends directly from the Netflix app, and scenes will start playing the moment they’re bookmarked.

  • This new feature is currently only available on iOS devices, but will be coming to Android in the coming weeks.

Everyone has that one friend who is always too busy to watch half of their favorite shows, and Netflix has the answer. It’s a new feature called Moments that lets you save and share your favorite scenes, at least on mobile.

“Moments” allow bookmark the scene one touch (via Android Authority). It is saved in My Netflix and you can come back to it later or create a link to share it with your friends. They’ll start watching the scene from the exact moment you bookmarked when you share it with them. It’s currently only available for iOS devices, but Netflix says it’s coming to Android in the coming weeks.

The number of Moments you can save depends on the length of the content, but Netflix says most users won’t have to worry about hitting the limit. This means that the storage space is quite large, although Netflix does not say how much is allocated to each customer. The company also plans to come up with more ways for people to enjoy individual scenes in the future, but hasn’t hinted at anything.

Netflix seems to be on a path of innovation decrease in the number of subscribersa problem that all major streaming platforms face. Paramount Plus, Disney Plus and Hulu will lose out millions of customers. Rising prices squeeze the market even more. This new Moments feature could help maintain Netflix’s dominance in a rapidly shrinking market.

A new branded campaign with several big names

The release of the new Moments coincides with Netflix’s global branding campaign called “It’s So Good.” This campaign aims to celebrate some of the most memorable moments in shows and movies created by Netflix and includes some famous names. Cardi B, Simone Biles and Giancarlo Esposito are part of it, according to Netflix.

Netflix says it hopes the “It’s So Good” campaign will remind people that Netflix is more than just a streaming service; it is a place where we create memories with our loved ones. By focusing on niche features and new technologies to enhance the experience, Netflix hopes to maintain its position as a global favorite streaming service.
