Allu Arjun is out of jail after spending a night in police custody due to a stampede

Actor Allu Arjun was released on Saturday morning from jail, where he spent the night after he was arrested in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede at the premiere of his latest film.

Arjun had to spend Friday evening in jail despite being granted bail by the Telangana High Court as the authorities did not receive a copy of the bail order till late evening.

“He has been released,” Ashok Reddy, his lawyer, told reporters at Chanchalgud jail.

Back home, Arjun thanked his followers and other people across the country for their love and support and said he is a law-abiding citizen and respects the law.

“I will cooperate with them and do what is necessary. And most importantly, I want to once again express my condolences to the family.

It (the woman’s death) is very, very unfortunate,” he told the media.

During the arrest, the 42-year-old actor said that he believed in the law and respected it.

“When the law takes its course, I don’t have to deal with the case, so I don’t have to talk about it. From a legal point of view, I would not like to talk about it,” he said.

Arjun said it was a difficult time for his family.

A 35-year-old woman died and her eight-year-old son was hospitalized on December 4 in a stampede at the Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad as thousands of fans jostled to see the actor at the film’s premiere. blockbuster “Pushpa 2: Rule”.

Following the incident, the city police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team and theater management under various Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) units at Chikkadpally police station based on a complaint filed by the family of the deceased woman.

Reaffirming that he would support the bereaved family, the actor said he had been going to theaters for the past 20 years to watch movies.

From jail, the star went straight to her family’s production house Geetha Arts and spent some time there.

When he returned home, he was embraced by his son, wife and other family members. According to sources, Arjun was kicked out through the gate of the prison academy around 6:45 am.

Ashok Reddy alleged that the jail authorities did not release the actor despite getting a copy of the Supreme Court order. “You should ask the government and the department why they have not released the accused. The decision of the High Court is very specific.

Immediately, as soon as you (the prison administration) receive the order (they should) release him. Despite a clear order, they were not released, they must answer. This is illegal detention. We will take legal action,” Reddy said.

According to the lawyer, Allu Arjun was kept in prison as a “prisoner of a special category”.

The “Pushpi” actor was arrested at his home on Friday morning, setting off a dramatic turn of events that lasted the entire day. After his arrest, Allu Arjun was taken to a local court, which remanded him in custody for 14 days. However, his lawyers moved the HC and obtained temporary bail. Arjun was lodged in Chanchalgud jail shortly before the HC passed its order.

Meanwhile, police have stepped up security outside the star’s city residence in anticipation of a surge of fans following his release.
