River Rouge police are searching for a missing 13-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted by his father

Christopher Brown, 13, a mentally disabled child, disappeared around 10 a.m. Oct. 27 from the McDonald’s restaurant at 10995 W. Jefferson Ave. in River Rouge.

Brown was seen tying his bike to a rack outside the restaurant before going inside for about a minute. When he got out, he got into a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe with Florida plates. Number plate DSM1544.

Hours after he disappeared, police discovered the SUV was registered to 58-year-old Christopher Alan Brown, who is the boy’s father. Earlier this year, the elder Brown was terminated from his parental rights.

The car was last seen in Toledo, Ohio. The elder Brown has ties to Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Police believe he may have been taking the teenager to Florida.

“We are warning the public not to approach Christopher Allan Brown as he is considered dangerous, but to contact local law enforcement,” the River Rouge Police Department said in a release.

Brown’s family tried to call his cell phone, but no one answered. The family said it was unusual behavior for the teenager, who had also recently stopped taking his medication.

Brown is white, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, red shorts and brown shoes. He had a red folder with him when he disappeared.

Anyone with information is asked to call the River Rouge Department of Public Safety at 313-842-8700 ext. 1 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800 Speakup.

According to River Rouge Police, Christopher Brown was last seen getting into that vehicle.
