In an interview with ANI, Urvashi spoke about the stabbing incident, calling it “very unfortunate”. However, her remarks soon shifted the focus to her personal life, highlighting the gifts she received after the film Daaku Maharaja crossed Rs 105 crore at the box office. She commented: “My mum gave me a diamond encrusted Rolex and my dad got me a mini watch. We don’t feel confident wearing them openly outside. There is such insecurity that anyone can attack us.”

Her comments, which appeared to downplay the seriousness of Saif Ali Khan’s situation, drew immediate criticism.

Deleted post with apologies
In response to the backlash, Urvashi shared an apology letter on Instagram, admitting her insensitivity. She wrote, “Dear Saif Ali Khan, Sir, I am writing with a sense of deep regret and sincere apology… I am ashamed that I have allowed myself to be consumed by the excitement around Daaku Maharaja and the gifts I received instead of stopping to acknowledge and understand what you’re going through.”

She further praised Saif’s resilience and offered her unwavering support. The letter ended with a promise to “prioritize compassion and understanding” in the future. However, the post was soon deleted, sparking further outrage.

Public reaction to the apology and removal
Netizens reacted sharply to Urvashi’s actions, with many questioning the sincerity of her apology. User X (formerly of Twitter) commented: “Apologise and delete? Is this a joke or a publicity stunt?” Others suggested that the apology was simply an attempt to stay in the spotlight.

Another comment read: “Why apologize if you’re just going to take it off? She doesn’t even seem to take her apology seriously.” Fans and critics expressed their disappointment, calling her actions “disgraceful”.

Current Status of Saif Ali Khan
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan continues to recover from his injuries at Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent several surgeries. The actor was stabbed six times with injuries to his spine and neck after an assailant attacked him at his home in Bandra. Mumbai Police is investigating the case, with more than 30 teams working on various leads to nab the attacker.
