Coronation Street’s Dee Dee Bailey announces Joel’s killer

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Dee Dee Bailey may have revealed who killed Joel Deering in a surprising scene Coronation Street.

The villain has mysteriously disappeared last month before his body eventually was found floating in the canaland the police begin to treat his death as a homicide investigation.

Several residents of Weatherfield have motives for wanting Joel dead, and the soap creates flashbacks to the fateful night of his death.

One such character is Dee-Dee, who is confirmed to have seen Joel that night as she approached his car. It looked even more ominous for her in later scenes, as she was later shown with a crowbar, washing away the blood in a sink.

The storyline continues in next week’s scenes (November 8) where there is an unexpected turn of events after Dee-Dee tearfully confesses to her father, Ed, that she killed Joel.

She explains that she committed the act after hearing of Joel’s intentions to leave Weatherfield after his own crimes, and broke down when she announced her intention to turn herself in to the police.

Dazed and horrified, Ed tries to talk Dee-Dee out of her plan, but can he convince her? And is Dee-Dee really a killer, or just made to feel like one?

Although Dee-Dee confesses to the murder, the other characters will still be in the line of fire, with Betsy Swain remains suspicious that her mother, Lisa, may have been involved.

With suspicious bruises and the presence of painkillers dated the day after Joel’s death, Lisa is interrogated by her fellow DC Keith Greenwhich confirms that her phone was searched.

After releasing a particularly revealing message in which he stated that she wanted Joel dead, Lisa is questioned about her whereabouts on the night of the murder.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and airs on ITVX.
