The body of a newborn was found in a box at Lucknow airport

A shocking incident took place at Lucknow’s Amausi airport on Tuesday morning when the body of a newborn baby was found inside a courier box during a routine cargo scan.

The package, booked on Indigo flight 6E 2238 to Mumbai, triggered a security alert, prompting airport staff and authorities to take immediate action.

The discovery was made when the scanning machine made an unusual sound while inspecting the cargo. After opening the box, the employees discovered the lifeless body of a one-month-old baby inside the plastic container. This was immediately reported to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is responsible for airport security.

The courier who booked the parcel, identified as Shiv Baran Yadav, was detained and handed over to the CISF for questioning. However, Yadav reportedly did not provide any explanation or documents regarding the presence of the newborn’s body in the courier package.

According to sources at the airport, a cargo team led by staff member Ankit Kumar was carrying out routine scanning of goods booked for air cargo. The scanner flagged the package, and a manual inspection revealed the newborn’s body. Shocked by the find, the cargo team immediately informed the CISF and the local police, who took control of the situation.

“We were shocked to find the body of a baby inside,” Kumar said.

Airport police have confirmed the discovery of a body in the cargo area and are investigating the circumstances of the incident. “It appears that the body has been sent to Mumbai, possibly for some kind of post-mortem,” said the airport chief.

Authorities are investigating whether the courier company or agent knew about the contents of the box. Currently, no official documents have been provided to confirm the transportation of the body. The identity of the newborn and the circumstances of his death remain unknown, the police are working to establish additional details.

The incident raised serious concerns about misuse of courier services and airport security measures.
