North Korea restores flight records of South Korean drone discovered in Pyongyang – World

SEOUL, October 28. /TASS/. North Korean experts removed the flight control module and retraced the route of the drone, fragments of which were discovered in Pyongyang earlier on October 19, KCNA reported.

A spokesman for the North Korean Defense Ministry has released the final results of the investigation into the drone invasion of Pyongyang. Investigators established the place of take-off, the route and the purpose of the drone. Earlier, the North Korean Foreign Ministry said that South Korean drones violated Pyongyang’s airspace three times in October.

Experts determined that the drone took off from the South Korean island of Pengnyongdo on October 8 at 23:25 local time, flew over the North Korean city of Nampho and scattered leaflets on October 9 at 01:32 in the air space between the Foreign Ministry Building and Sungni subway station, and at 01:35 – over the Ministry of Defense. The experts concluded that the plan to drop the flyer was made along with the flight plan: the control module sent a signal to the connected device when the drone reached the specified location in the flight plan.

According to KCNA, the evidence included 238 flight plans and records made between June 5, 2023 and October 8, 2024. All but the last flight took place over South Korea.

The news agency noted that the presented facts prove that the South Korean military is responsible for the provocation with the distribution of leaflets. The representative of the Ministry of Defense added that if a South Korean drone violates the airspace of North Korea again, “the source of all problems and provocations will disappear forever as a result of the ruthless offensive of the DPRK.”
