Hamas releases video of US-Israeli hostages in Gaza pleading with Trump

JERUSALEM. The Palestinian militant group Hamas released a video on November 30 of an Israeli-American hostage pleading with US President-elect Donald Trump to release him from captivity.

There was no comment from the family of the hostage, 20-year-old Edan Alexander, or from Israeli authorities, who called previous similar videos brutal psychological warfare.

About half of the 101 foreign and Israeli hostages still held incommunicado in Gaza are believed to be still alive. All but four of them were stolen during Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 in the south of Israel.

Hamas leaders are expected to arrive in Cairo on November 30 for ceasefire talks with Egyptian officials to explore ways to reach a deal that could secure the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Reuters
