BJP MLA Munirathna is accused in cases of intimidation and atrocities

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday filed a charge sheet in the Special Court exclusively for hearing criminal cases against Bengaluru MPs/Members of Parliament against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused Muniratna in intimidation and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Cases Act cases. tribes (prevention of atrocities). Currently, Munirathna, who represents the Rajarajashwari Nagar Assembly constituency in Bengaluru, is out on bail.

BJP MLA accused of intimidating contractor Velu Nayakar. Muniratna has also been booked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The contractor registered a complaint against the MLA on September 13 this year at Vyalikaval police station in Bengaluru city.

Besides the SC/ST (Prevention of Crime) Act, the BJP MLA has also been booked under Sections 153, 153 A, 504 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code. The SIT is also investigating the rape allegations against Muniratna.

According to a press release from the CID office, Bengaluru, the charges against Munirathna include 53 witnesses and 157 documentary evidences during the investigation. The indictment of the SIT has 590 pages and includes 3 persons who are eyewitnesses in the case. Eyewitnesses gave their statements to the judge.

The release said that the audio recording of the alleged caste abuse by the BJP MLA against the Contractor was tested at the forensic laboratory and the FSL tests confirmed that the audio recording of the conversation matched the audio sample of the audio conversation with the accused person’s voice.
