Derek Jeter accomplished a lot in his Hall of Fame career.

The legendary shortstop spent his entire 20-year career with New York Yankees and won five World Series titles, 14 All-Star awards, a World Series MVP, five Gold Glove awards and five Silver Rumblers, and many other awards. Jeter’s resume would make anyone green with envy, but there’s one thing “The Captain” wants to add to the list — the Fall Classic vs. Los Angeles Dodgers.

“There’s nothing I would change about my career other than the opportunity to play in the Yankees-Dodgers World Series,” Jeter said before Game 1 of the 2024 Fall Classic between the Yankees and the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

The 2024 World Series game marks a a record 12th time the two giants faced each other for the Commissioner’s Trophy — but for the first time since 1981. This was long before the days of Jeter. He won five titles with the Yankees – 1996 against the Atlanta Braves, 1998 against the San Diego Padres, 1999 against the Braves, 2000 against the New York Mets and 2009 against the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2000, he was named the World Series MVP.
