A truck rammed a bus stop near an Israeli army base as a result of a possible terrorist attack, dozens injured

The suspect drove the truck into a nearby stop Israeli city Tel Aviv, at least 35 people were injured, local authorities are investigating a possible terrorist attack.

In the city of Ramat Hasharon, in the Glilot district northeast of Tel Aviv, a truck crashed into a bus that had stopped to drop off passengers as Israelis returned to work after a week’s vacation.

The bus stop is near a military base and the headquarters of Israel’s Mossad intelligence.

Some victims remained trapped under the truck. Civilians shot dead the truck driver who allegedly got away with a knife, the international Israeli news agency Tazpit Press Service (TPS) reported.

The truck driver was a resident of the Israeli-Arab town of Kalansave, police sources told TPS.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist group praised the suspected attack but did not make a statement, according to the Associated Press. TPS said many of the victims were elderly pensioners who were on their way to the museum. At least one victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to TPS.

Also, not far from the scene of the incident, there are several army intelligence units that were hit by rockets from Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

Supreme Leader of Iranmeanwhile, said Israel’s strikes on the country over the weekend “should neither be exaggerated nor downplayed,” while not calling for retaliation, suggesting Iran was carefully weighing its response to the attack.

On Saturday, Israeli warplanes attacked military targets in Iran in response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack earlier this month.

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the strikes had caused “severe damage” to Iran and had hit all of Israel’s targets.

“The Air Force has struck all over Iran. We have seriously damaged Iran’s defense capabilities and its ability to produce missiles aimed at us,” Netanyahu said in his first public comments on the strikes.
