Perint was previously arrested on April 3, 2024, but later released on conditions; however, reports indicate that he violated his release conditions and was later arrested on August 15, 2024.

The original charge was brought by a Clay County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit (CCSO) detective who went undercover online and arranged a drug transaction with Perint back in August 2023.

Perint arrived at the scene and was held in a traffic stop due to a prior suspension of his license. During the stop, the police found a loaded 9-millimeter pistol and cartridges scattered around the car. At the time, Perint was already a convicted felon, which prohibited him from handling firearms under federal law.

Perint faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in federal prison.
