52-year-old Allen is charged with murder both teenagers February 13, 2017. He was arrested in 2022 and charged with two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping for the deaths of Abby and Libby.

Jerry Holman

Officials who testified Saturday, October 26, 2024day seven of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Jerry Holman: Indiana State Police Investigator. Holeman said that during the 2022 interview, Allen showed signs of lying, such as looking down and touching his face. He admitted that the signs were “inconspicuous”.

Officials who testified Friday, October 25, 2024day seven of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Melissa Oberg: a firearms expert with the Indiana State Police. Oberg told jurors that her analysis of an unexpended round collected between Abby and Libby’s bodies was thrown through Allen’s Sig Sauer Model P226, .40-caliber handgun.

Officials who testified Thursday, October 24, 2024day six of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Steve Mullin: Former Police Chief of the Delphi Police Department. He later became an investigator in the Carroll County District Attorney’s Office. Mullin testified to jurors that he believes the vehicle Allen owns is the same one seen on surveillance video on the day of the murder.
  • David Vido: Indiana State Police Investigator. Det. Vido helped search Allen’s home and explained to jurors what they found.
  • Jerry Holman: Indiana State Police Investigator. Lt. Holeman testified that Allen was advised to file a complaint if his home was damaged during the investigation, to which Allen allegedly replied, “It doesn’t matter, it’s over.”
  • Tony Liggett: Sheriff Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Liggett explained to jurors how Allen avoided the spotlight as a suspect.
  • Dan Doolin: Indiana Department of Natural Resources a captain who assisted in the early investigation of the Delphi murders. Doolin interviewed Allen at a grocery store in 2017, and Allen said he was under investigation between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on February 13, 2017.
  • Kathy Shank: retired civil servant and volunteer at Carroll County Prosecutor’s Office On September 21, 2022, Schenk discovered a box of files containing Allen’s name and wondered if there might be a connection between him and “City Boy”. She presented the file to Tony Liggett, then deputy director, who contacted Steve Mullin.

Day 6 of Richard Allen’s trial: Richard Allen was not on the radar of Delphi researchers. Then the volunteer found the tip box.

Christopher Cecil, Sarah Carbo, Dr. Roland Cor

Witnesses who testified Wednesday, October 23, 2024day five of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Sarah Carbo: She showed what she saw “Bridge Grove” while driving east on County Road near the Monon High Bridge Trail, saying the man was “covered in mud and blood.”

Officials who testified:

  • Christopher Cecil: a digital forensics expert with the Indiana State Police. Sergeant Cecil presented a detailed timeline of the girls’ activities based on his analysis of the content he extracted from Libby’s iPhone.
  • Roland Kor: Semi-retired forensic medical expert. On February 15, 2017, Cor performed autopsies on the teenagers and described the injuries that likely killed them.

Witnesses who testified on Tuesday, October 22, 2024day four of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Reilly Voorhees: On February 13, 2017, she drove to the Monon High Bridge Trail with Brianne Wilber, where Voorhees recalled seeing a man later identified as “Bridge Guy.”
  • Brian Wilber: a friend of Kelsey Siebert, Libby’s older sister, Wilbur was hiking the Monon High Bridge Trail on February 13, 2017 with Reilly Voorhees and remembered seeing “Bridge Guy”.
  • Betsy Blair: She saw Abby and Libby talking quietly on the Monon High Bridge Trail on February 13, 2017. She told jurors she saw a man on the wooden walkways standing about 50 feet away from her, who she later said was “Bridge Guy.”

  • Jeremy Chapman: Indiana State Police System Administrator. Chapman’s point when prosecutors played an extended version the now infamous “Bridge Guy” video. was that the man says, “Down the hill.”
  • Brian Olegy: Indiana State Police Crime Scene Investigator.
  • Steve Mullin: former boss, Delphi Police Department.

Officials who testified on Monday, October 21, 2024The third day of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Jason Page: Investigator for Indiana State Police. Sergeant Page described vivid crime scene photos shown to jurors and what investigators saw when they found Libby and Abby’s bodies.
  • Darron Giancola: pronoun Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Giancola participated in the search and described the crime scene. He and other investigators found clothing floating in the water near the cemetery.
  • Dwayne Datzman: Former Indiana State Police investigator. Datzman found a piece of evidence that tied Allen to the crime scene: an unexpended round from a gun prosecutors say belongs to Allen.
  • Brian Olegy: Indiana State Police Crime Scene Investigator. He testified about the sticks and branches scattered over the bodies of the teenagers.

Day 3 of Richard Allen’s trial: Gasps and tears as graphic images of Abby and Libby are shown to the jury.

Witnesses who testified on Saturday, October 19, 2024day two of Richard Allen’s trial:

  • Patrick Brown: Delphi resident and longtime friend of Mike Petty, Libby’s grandfather, who participated in the search for the teenagers on February 14, 2017. He discovered the bodies of Libby and Abby near Deer Creek Monon high bridge.
  • Jake Jones: a resident of Delphi who participated in the search for teenagers on February 14, 2017. He was with Patrick Brown when the pair discovered Libby and Abby’s bodies.

Officials who testified:

  • Steve Mullin: former boss, Delphi Police Department. A lifelong resident of Delphi participated in the search for missing teenagers. He received a call from Patrick Brown after Brown discovered the bodies. Mullin reviewed surveillance footage from a nearby store.

The families of the victims who testified on Friday, October 18, 2024The first day of Richard Allen’s trial includes:

  • Becky Patti: Grandma Libby German, who asked Patty if she and Abby could go do something on February 13, 2017, an unseasonably warm day. “The last thing she said to me was, ‘Grandma, it’s going to be okay,'” Patty testified.
  • Kelsey Siebert: Libby Herman’s older sister. Snapchat photos taken of Libby on February 13, 2017 show Abby sitting in the back seat of Siebert’s car heading to the trailhead earlier that day.
  • Derrick Herman: Libby Herman’s father. While he was driving to Frankfurt, on February 13, 2017, he received a phone call from Libby asking for a lift from the Monon High Bridge. Libby was not answering the phone when he arrived.
  • Anna Williams: Mother of Abby Williams. She was working at the restaurant on the afternoon of February 13, 2017, when she answered a phone call from Becky Petty, who said the girls were missing.

Officials who testified:

  • Mitch Catron: pronoun Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Ketron began searching for the missing teenagers on February 13, 2017, and searched the woods around Deer Creek.
