Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post endorsed Trump’s second presidency.

The paper’s editorial says the election is “one of the most important in the history of this great nation” and adds that the decision “will reverberate for decades”.

Citing concerns about the US border, safe cities, the US’s position on the world stage and gender, The Post says Trump is the “only” choice.

The newspaper’s endorsement of the former president is notable, given that it abandoned Trump’s presidency after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Its editors wrote at the time that “Trump has proven that he is not worthy to be the head of the executive branch of this country again.”

The Post’s editorial is one of several that have been published recently: The New York Times endorsed Harris as the “only choice” for president, as did The Boston Globe.

The Los Angeles Times, meanwhile, saw controversy over the lack of any support.

Patrick Soon-Shiong, owner of the LA Times, refused to endorse Harris for publication, leading to the resignation of editorial board chair Mariel Garza. Two other members of the board also resigned, according to the American publication Semafor.
