Three Nevisians are among the 25 most outstanding teenagers of the Federation for 2024

At the event, which took place on November 6, 2024, young people who achieved success in various fields and disciplines were recognized, and members of parliament presented each teenager with an award.

Sion Harding has been recognized in the fields of the creative arts, including music and cinematography. Member of Parliament for Nevis 11, the Honorable Alexis Jeffers, presented her with the award, expressing admiration for her confidence and achievements.

He said, “Something about you radiates confidence. I see it in you. I can hear it in your short speech on the display. You will always want to take it with you wherever you go. So you continue to be a good partner and a good friend to your peers. Keep up the good work in school because you have achieved some great things so far based on your profile. So the best is yet to come.

“This esteemed house, your parents, we are all proud of you because you have done a wonderful job thus far as a young lady coming into this Federation and into this world. So congratulations.”

Performing Arts and Leadership Awardee Kayla Claxton received her award from Nevis Premier Mark Brantley, Member of Parliament for Nevis 9.

Praising her exceptional achievements, he noted: “At the tender age of 13, she has already passed her first CXC exam, achieving distinction in the EDPM and placing second in Nevis and 10th in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. I think that in itself is pretty remarkable at 13 years old.

“The profile states, in part, that her accomplishments in dance, scholarship, leadership and community service are not just impressive, they are a tribute to her boundless talent and deep compassion. Of course, a star on the dance floor, on the dance stage, but also in academia, and, I suspect, soon in politics as well.”

Rondre Daniel was recognized as a scholar-athlete and for his spiritual devotion. Senator and Deputy Speaker, the Honorable Latoya Jones presented his award applauding his dedication, positivity and discipline.

“Rondr’s dedication as a scholar-athlete, balanced with his spiritual growth and outstanding academic results, is inspiring. Rondr is admired by his peers and his community not only for his achievements, but also for his wonderful personality. Rondr is positive, disciplined, dedicated, hardworking and extremely helpful.

“Rondre, you are a beacon of hope. Let this be one of the many achievements that highlight your bright future as you inspire and uplift those around you. We congratulate and are proud of you,” she said.
