The suspect in the invasion that led to the death of the man allegedly tried to “commit the life of a police officer”

Alejandra Boudreau, who is accused of breaking into a home before a police shooting, allegedly intended for officers to fire their weapons in a suicide attempt, according to a criminal complaint filed against her.

Court documents show Boudreau is facing four charges: home invasion while in possession of a deadly weapon or firearm, domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse/neglect and reckless endangerment of persons or property.

The complaint alleges that Boudreau broke into Brandon Durham’s home with a knife, intending to provoke a police response that would lead to her shooting.

Although the name of the person she allegedly wanted to shoot has been redacted, it is believed to be Durham.

During the incident, a Metro officer fired several shots at Durham.

Body camera footage released yesterday shows Durham struggling over a knife with an assailant. Court documents suggest some type of relationship between Durham and Boudreau.

Metro police are conducting an internal investigation into the shooting, and the district attorney’s office will ultimately decide whether criminal charges will be filed.

Surveillance video obtained by News 3 shows Boudreau outside the home for ten minutes, recording the sound of breaking glass.

The criminal complaint accuses Boudreau of trying to hit Durham.
