First-time mom dies in ‘tragic’ crash after being thrown from golf cart, police say

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (Grey News) – The mother of a 2-month-old girl in Maryland has died after she was injured in a tragic golf cart crash, authorities said.

On November 9, Anne Arundel County police were called to treat an injured person, according to a news release.

“A preliminary investigation revealed that 32-year-old Mary Blazetti suffered non-life threatening injuries in an incident involving an EZ-GO golf cart,” police said.

Blazetti was airlifted to a hospital, where she died of her injuries on Monday.

Officials identified Blazetti as a passenger, but they did not release the name of the driver of the golf cart, who was identified as a 32-year-old woman.

The authorities believe that at some point the two women got into some kind of failure. That’s when Blazetti was ejected from the golf cart, WJZ reported

According to A GoFundMe pageBlazetti and her husband Nick Blazetti recently purchased their first home in Annapolis and welcomed their daughter in September.

“She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, and her absence will be deeply missed by all who knew her,” the fundraising page reads.
