A man arrested last weekend in a drug and firearms investigation by Toronto police has been charged, along with two others.

Toronto police said narcotics officers arrested a man on Nov. 9 in connection with the investigation.

The police believe that the suspect was involved in the cocaine trade.

Jonathan Alcaraz Lozano, 24, of Toronto, was charged with five counts of trafficking in a Schedule I substance, five counts of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm weapons possession of a firearm knowing that possession is illegal, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited device knowing possession to be unauthorized, negligent storage of a firearm and negligent storage ammunition

Investigators obtained search warrants for illegal drugs at two residences in the city, police said.

After the searches, the police detained two more people and seized a loaded firearm.

Jada Salsman, 18, and Reynaldo Nicholls, 29, both of Toronto, were charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm by an unauthorized person, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited device by an unauthorized person, negligent storage of a firearm weapons as well careless storage of ammunition.

Lozano and Salsman are also charged with failure to comply with a release order.

Police say investigators seized approximately 76 grams of cocaine, one Smith & Wesson M&P .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, an additional 36 rounds of ammunition, a digital scale and a cell phone.
