The public appeal is part of an investigation into what police have described as a prepaid scam involving the fraudulent sale of tickets to music and sporting events in the GTA.

In a press release issued Friday, police said the extensive investigation between February and October was launched after receiving several reports that the suspect fraudulently sold unsuspecting victims tickets to concerts and sporting events, passing them off as tickets from legitimate and reputable ticketing companies. .

Investigators believe the victims of these incidents suffered financial losses of more than $38,000.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Jaspal Singh Tiara, 37, of Toronto. He is wanted for fraud over $5,000, but failed to comply.

“Given the increased awareness of the concert in the GTA this week, it is believed that he may still be actively seeking additional unsuspecting victims,” ​​police said in a news release.
