Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office officers stopped a vehicle driven by Dotson on April 7, 2024, after seeing the vehicle have defective equipment and an expired registration. Dotson attempted to flee but later stopped after a short car chase.

When Dotson was searched during the traffic stop, officers found what Dotson described as crack cocaine, along with a large amount of cash and a handgun.

Later, after watching the video of the chase from the recorder’s camera, the law enforcement officers saw that some object had been thrown from the car. The item was later found, which turned out to be a bag containing ten plastic bags as well as a digital scale.

The plastic bags were field tested and tested positive for fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Bishop thanked the entire staff of the prosecutor’s office as well as members of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for their work on the investigation.
