The teenagers were injured in a crash in Wakulla County on Thursday, FHP said

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Two 17-year-olds were injured Thursday in a crash in Wakulla County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to an FHP press release, it happened near the intersection of State Route 30 and Evalinda Street around 2:20 p.m.

A 17-year-old boy from Crawfordville was driving the sedan that was stopped on SR 30 at Evalinda Street waiting to make a left turn, the report said. There were three passengers in the car, who were also from Crawfordville: two 17-year-old males and an 18-year-old boy.

While the vehicle was being stopped, a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old boy from Crawfordville rear-ended and crashed into the sedan, FHP said.

The FHP said the road was wet due to bad weather at the time. All occupants of the crash were wearing seat belts, FHP said.

The 17-year-old driver of the sedan and one 17-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries during the crash, according to the state Highway Patrol.

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and Wakulla County Fire and Rescue responded to the crash along with the Florida Highway Patrol.
