High technologies at the scientific and technical fair in Jiading

The 7th Science and Technology Fair for the Yangtze River Delta opened at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center in Jiading District on Wednesday, showcasing advanced technologies with about 70 events to promote high-tech development in the region.

The expo consists of three main exhibition zones: a complex exposition in the Yangtze River Delta, a zone of scientific and technical achievements and a scientific and technical ecology zone.

A science and technology talent recruitment zone was introduced for the first time, providing a platform and opportunities to promote scientific and technological innovation and industrial modernization.

Shanghai Gongji Technology is demonstrating the industrial application of core technologies for high-precision vehicle positioning under all conditions, while Jiyu Technology is introducing an unmanned mobile power pack to the fair.

During the forum, the Science and Innovation Plan of Jiading County was released, which will serve as an advanced field for scientific and technological achievements and a source for future-oriented industries, promoting the accelerated development of new quality productive forces.

The science and innovation core in Jiuyuan New District of Jiading New City covers an area of ​​2.4 square kilometers, and the joint development zone includes the entire Jiuyuan New District and surrounding areas.

Currently, the central zone is home to five national research institutes, 230 high-tech enterprises and 6,000 research professionals, boasting the highest ecosystem of scientific and technological innovation.

By 2030, the Science and Innovation Core will unite more than 30 science and technology platforms at the municipal level or higher, while the share of science and technology enterprises will exceed 70 percent.

Equipped with intelligent pathways with motion tracking and data analysis systems, multi-purpose sports fields, children’s play areas and outdoor fitness areas, the integrated public park will form part of the core, providing a healthy, energetic and intelligent leisure space through the fusion of technology and sport.

The science and innovation core focuses on the county’s three main billion-dollar leading industries – automotive, intelligent sensors and the Internet of Things (integrated circuits), as well as medical equipment and precision medicine.

It will also promote the transformation of original technological breakthroughs and major scientific and technological achievements in the three main areas of future intelligence, future materials and future space, said Fan Yuyan, deputy director of the Jiading District Science and Technology Commission.

According to the plan, by 2030, the core will attract more than 8,000 new specialists, and a dynamic international scientific and innovative community will also be created.
