SC prisoners who escaped from the SIZO are returned to custody Pee Dee News

The last two of the four prisoners who escaped from the Chesterfield County Detention Center October 15 were arrested. All four prisoners returned to custody.

De’Sean Fox and Keonn McLeod were arrested by the Darlington Police Department on October 25, according to a press release from the South Carolina State Department of Law Enforcement.

Fox and McLeod are the last two prisoners to be apprehended after a 10-day manhunt since the first escape. Location of authorities Anton Conway Bennett in Halifax County, North Carolina, 204 miles from here, on October 22.

Another of the fugitives, Emmanuel Plancowas captured in Richland County on October 17, 75 miles from the detention center.

The police detained him Dixon roared21, of Darlington on Oct. 16, who authorities believe helped the inmates escape.

It is still unknown how the four prisoners managed to escape.

According to Chesterfield County Sheriff Campbell Streeter, the inmates escaped from the Chesterfield County Detention Center in the early morning hours of October 15.

This is not the first escape of prisoners from the SIZO. An inmate escaped through a door that was unlocked earlier this year, and in June 2023, an inmate accused of murder escaped through a barred window of a detention center. Both prisoners were found and returned to the detention center.
