Telangana Police Officer Sub-Inspector Krishnakumar Caught Taking Bribe From Farmer, Remanded – Telangana News

A sub-inspector of Telangana’s Nizamabad district has been taken into custody by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting bribe from a local farmer, officials said on Saturday.

According to the information, Sub Inspector (SI) Krishnakumar allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a farmer named Nagaraju of Kottayam camp in connection with the dispute.

This came after the person involved in the altercation with Nagaraj filed a complaint at the police station, prompting the SI to demand a bribe from him.

The initial demand of Rs 50,000 has been reduced to Rs 20,000. However, Nagaraju decided to approach the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and sought their help.

Acting on Nagaraj’s complaint, the ACB laid a trap for a policeman during a planned exchange of money. Later, ACB DSP Shekhar Goud caught SI Krishnakumar red-handed while receiving money from the farmer and took him into custody.
