PETA files complaint with Los Angeles Department of Wildlife and Fisheries over live tiger at LSU game

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB). Following the announcement of the return of a live tiger to Tiger Stadium, the non-profit animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) strongly protested the idea.

Governor Landry announced on November 8 that he plans to bring a live tiger to Tiger Stadium on Saturday for the LSU football game.

Following this confirmation, PETA released several statements against him. The animal rights group now says it has filed an “urgent” complaint about the matter with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

In a statement released Saturday, Nov. 9, PETA released the complaint, saying in particular that “transporting a stressed tiger across state lines and stuffing it into a clean box in a noisy football stadium” is “cruel and dangerous.” They also say “it’s illegal in Louisiana too.”

A Tiger named Omar Bradley was flown in from Florida for the LSU-Bama game in Death Valley on Saturday, November 9th.
