Treasury Director John Mbadi makes important appointments in his fortunes

The National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has announced three appointments to the Local Government Provident Fund (LAPFUND).

Who has CS Mbadi appointed to LAPFUND?

Mbadi has appointed Millicent Nyabokeh, Samwela Kariuki and Beatrice Kones as the new board members of LAPFUND for the next three years.

The appointment was announced on Friday, November 8.

“The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning has appointed Samwela Kariuki Mainu, Beatrice Kones and Millicent Nyabokeh as members of the Board of the Local Government Provident Fund for three (3) years commencing November 8,” the newspaper reported.

LAPFUND was established in 1960 by an Act of Parliament.

He supervises the provisions of pension schemes for employees of local self-government bodies.

The fund was created to support local government employees upon retirement.

Currently, its membership is more than 70,000 employees.

In other news, recently former Senator Millicent Omanga rejected the appointment of President William Ruto serve on the board Nairobi Annual commission.

Taking to social media X, Omanga expressed her gratitude to the president for considering her for the vital role but expressed her reservations about it.

The politician said that she will not take up this position for personal reasons.

Her decision caused mixed reactions from Kenyans, some make fun of it.

The section argued that the appointment was unbecoming of Omanza given the efforts she had put into campaigning for Ruto become president

Others found that the president made appointments without consulting those he trusted with the positions.

What position was Omanga appointed to?

Earlier Omanga was among the people appointed by the president to hold the post of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in various ministries.

She was appointed CAS by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

There were positions awarded to those who refused the election who rallied behind Ruto during the 2022 campaigns.

However, the CAS appointments were overturned by the court after various interest groups challenged them as unconstitutional.

Although the CAS were sworn in, they were unable to begin their mandate through blocks the judgments established against these positions.
