(Society) “Anti-cancer effect”… Unauthorized cell therapy sales worth 11.1 billion won

Seoul’s Western District Prosecutor’s Office sued company representatives and other officials for selling unauthorized cell therapy worth 11.1 billion won.

Four people, including CEO A, 51, are accused of selling 11.1 billion won worth of cell therapy that was not approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety 675 times between November 2021 and April this year.

They are also accused of dumping 2,672 liters of plasma culture, medical waste that has a high risk of spreading infectious diseases, down the sink without permission.

Maeng Kyung-jae, the former head of the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority, was also on trial for receiving 50 million won worth of free procedures and helping these companies select participants for the global special zone.
