Shooting at Furnace Branch Rd and Margate Dr in Glen Burnie; the police say about possible aggression on the road

A man was killed in a drive-by shooting in Glen Burnie Thursday night, officials say.

Police say officers responded to a call about shots fired in the area of ​​Furnace Branch Road and Margate Drive in Glen Burnie on Nov. 7 around 8:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers say they found an adult male, approximately 51 years old, on the ground and an adult male, approximately 23 years old, at the scene.

Firefighters responded and despite best efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was the result of an accident on Route 10, officials said.

Police say the suspect and victim stopped at Furnace Branch Road and Margate Drive.

Officials say it appears the victim attacked the suspect with a hammer, but police say they are still investigating the details.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Anne Arundel County Criminal Investigation Division for questioning, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
