Russell Simmons’ topless thirst trap backfires as fans can’t help but zoom in on his ‘melting’ half

Russell Simmons shows his followers what wonders a consistent routine can do for the body.

On Friday, the Def Jam Records founder uploaded a shirtless photo of himself in gym shorts and a cap to show off his physique after completing a “routine” and ridding his life of certain toxic substances.

In the caption, the 67-year-old talked about some of his practices, such as taking daily ice baths every morning, meditating twice a day, doing yoga and going to the gym.

“I’ve learned to appreciate the thrill of choosing only healthy foods that have healing properties and avoiding toxic foods and people (love everyone but hang those who lift you up),” he wrote in his Instagram caption.

Many people who know Simmons know that he has been living a holistic lifestyle for some time. He began eliminating animal products from his diet and was introduced to yoga in the 1990s. He has also written several books on the subject to give readers a guide on how to improve their lives as well as their lives in another country.

“Over the years, I have incorporated ideas and practices into my life. Overall, I think one thing at a time is the easy way out and before you know it, you’ll be building a life of abundance,” the New York native continued.

“Of course, I’m still a work in progress, but I’ve learned to be gentle with myself and master one thing at a time… choose ONE thing to make you grow, do it until it becomes a habit, then choose another and another God will judge your effort and to support you,” Simmons further explained.

“I PROMISE that I have written 5 books on health, happiness and spirituality. God always reminds me and you in this regard to be obedient, to live according to the promises, to try to remember, to remember to follow the path laid in your heart and in the scriptures #cryotherapy every day.”

Many fans couldn’t help but look past the seemingly helpful caption as they were distracted by Simmons’ Thirst Trap photo. Some noticed that the father of two had loose skin that had lost weight over the years.

“Thirsty at such an advanced age is wild, but you’re just terrifying,” one user said in his comments section. Another said: “You’re not topless. There’s no need for this photo,” while a third replied, “HEY, BACK OFF THE DOG, PLEASE.”

Another said: “Now I know perfectly well that shirts are made in Bali. Cover them tiddays Rush!!!!”

One of his defenders tried to shut down the criticism, writing: “Looking healthier than half these haters who are half his age!!!”

The Neighborhood Talk reposted the photo on its Instagram page, and fans began to joke. One person said“When the candle starts to melt.”

A second person commented: “He looks like whatever they said he did, he did it.”

Simmons, who was lives in Bali since 2018, moved there shortly after he began receiving allegations of sexual assault and rape from several different women in 2017. Other women have since come forward, but Simmons has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. To further back up this claim, in last year’s “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” interview, Simmons revealed that he took nine lie detector tests.

It was reported earlier this month that Simmons owed the three women just over $3 million after failing to pay them by Oct. 1 to settle earlier settlements. The next day, the three women filed documents known as sentencing confessions in court to force Simmons to pay.
