Warren County is seeking public input on a proposed restoration project

WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – The Warren County Park District is inviting public feedback on a proposed river restoration project at Landen-Deerfield Park.

The existing pond, originally created in the early 1980s for aesthetic purposes by damming the creek, has become a financial burden due to the costs associated with dredging and treating unhealthy algal blooms and invasive plants.

The proposed project aims to convert the pond into a natural stream, wetland and pond system. The primary goal is to improve water quality within the Little Miami River watershed.

An open house for the project will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Deerfield Township Fire Station 57.
