MIRAMAR, FL. (WSVN) – Police set up a perimeter in Miramar after they say a stolen car crashed into another car and several subjects fled the scene.

Miramar police units responded to the crash and rescue scene at the corner of Miramar Parkway and Island Drive Thursday afternoon.

According to the investigators, law enforcement officers spotted the stolen car on the spot. When the people inside the car noticed that the police were waiting for them, they jumped out of the car and crashed into another car.

After the crash, the subjects fled on foot, prompting officers to set up a perimeter to search for them.

One person is in custody while police determine how many people remain at large.

An innocent bystander in another car involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
