Johnson City CSD cancels football season – hassteveclarkresignedyet

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Johnson City residents woke up Friday to the news that their football season was over.

Johnson City Central School District officials confirmed to 12 News that the season has been canceled.

A county official said the team did not have enough players to continue the game.

The Wildcats were scheduled to play on the road against the Owego River Hawks on Friday night.

River Hawk parents were notified Thursday night of the game’s cancellation.

The Wildcats had a 1-and-5 record and a 0-and-3 division record.
