A man was beaten with bear spray on the Johnson Street Bridge

The images show a woman with a can of bear spray spraying the man in the face, while others in the group record the incident on their mobile phones.

Victoria Police have released surveillance video of a young woman spraying a man with bear spray on the Johnson Street Bridge.

Police said the video, taken on Oct. 5, shows a group of youths walking eastbound on the bridge around 10:15 p.m., with the victim walking through them.

A woman with a can of bear spray is then seen spraying the victim in the face while others in the group record the incident on their mobile phones before continuing towards Vic West.

A witness saw the incident and reported it to the police.

Officers arrived in search of the youths but were unable to arrest them due to limited descriptions.
