Police are investigating an attempted carjacking of a car ATM in Verona

VERONA, Pa. (KDKA). Police are investigating an attempted robbery of a Chase Bank walk-through ATM from the River Town Mall in Verona.

Verona police told KDKA the incident happened early Monday morning at a strip mall on Allegheny River Boulevard.

Allegheny County Police detectives were called to investigate.

At the scene, KDKA reporters noticed extensive damage to the ATM.

It is unclear whether the person or people responsible got away with the money.
