Sit expands investigations into civil officials as 457 illegal structures identified

The Mumbai Municipal Administration is under careful control for alleged fakes with original cards to facilitate unauthorized structures. A special investigation group (SIT) has already taken measures against 20 people, and now municipal officials will also be investigated. The Minister of Revenue Chandrashechar Bavankule ordered that all illegal structures would be demolished by July. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation intends to file a formal complaint, and legislators demand that the accused be charged with the control of Maharashtra on the law on organized crime (MCOCA).

During the budget session of the state legislative body, Mla Anil Parab expressed anxiety about 102 counterfeit cards used for construction. In response, the Minister Bankul convened a meeting in the State Secretariat, which was attended by Mla Anil Parab, Sahin Akhir, Yogesh Sagar and Mumbaic Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.

In total, 457 unauthorized structures were identified in the municipal jurisdiction of Mumbai, of which 66 were already demolished. Actions continue against 391 structures. The investigation was initiated after a complaint by a person named Thakur. Therefore, six officials of the Land Recorges were disciplined, including two termination.

Mlas Yogesh Sagar and Anil Parab demanded direct action against illegal structures instead of issuing previous messages. They also called for strict measures against local officials responsible for failure. It was noted that previously destroyed structures were rebuilt, emphasizing the urgency of compulsory execution. Bavancule minister has set a July for final actions on this issue.
