The Detroit Lions are the top offensive trade targets

The Detroit Lions the NFL trade deadline is just days away.

While the team’s greatest need is considered by many to be enabled protectionthere are ways a team can use the trade deadline to improve its offense. Positions such as wide receiver and offensive receiver are somewhat weak, but both of those groups are led by an All-Pro player.

Here are 10 offensive players lions could be traded at the trade deadline on Tuesday.

OT by Evan Neal

Nile — a former top draft pick who fell out of favor with the New York Giants. He didn’t start the game for the Giants, instead stepping behind veteran Jermaine Eluemunor. As a result, it could be moved to the established deadline.

Detroit has solid interior depth, but the tackle position is thinner Dan Skipper and Giovanni Manu as the only backup tackle. As a result, adding Neal as depth can have its benefits.

W. R. T. Higgins

Tee Higgins was a big part of Bengal“passing attack, but the team has struggled to finish and win games early in the year. As a result, the team may decide to sell off assets if they can’t win on Sunday.

Higgins is one of the best wide receivers, if not the best, potentially available at this year’s deadline. While lions to have many weapons, Higgins would give them the opportunity to become even richer on the outside.

TE Harrison Bryant

The Lions have two solid tight ends in their offense, with Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright providing a 1-2 punch. Detroit also recently made a position change, releasing Parker Hesse, who was the team’s starting linebacker at the start of the season.

As a result Detroit has only two tight ends on the active roster. Further changes could come after Shane Zylstra was promoted for the third straight week, so the Lions will have to decide whether to promote him to the active roster permanently this week. If not, a deal for a player like Bryant, who was usurped by Brock Bowers, could be a bargain.

O. H. Andrus Torf

Peat is a veteran option who can help bolster the interior depth of the offensive line. While behind the starters are young options like Michael Niese, Colby Sorsdal and Christian MahoganyKayode Awosika is the only option who has started multiple games in his career.

As a result, an experienced player like Peat could help bolster the depth should the Lions need someone to step up.

WR Mike Williams

Williams viewed as a likely trade candidate after the New York Jets acquired Davante Adams two weeks ago. The veteran has plenty left to give and could be traded back to his former team, the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Lions seem to have found their big, physical option in Tim Patrick, so the need doesn’t appear to be too pressing. Still, Williams is an intriguing name.

WR Darius Slayton

Slayton he’s a different mold than Williams, but he’s consistent and a solid contributor nonetheless. At 6-foot-1, he could be a big player in Ben Johnson’s offense.

The veteran rookie had four catches for 108 yards in Monday’s game against the Giants last week and is expected to be coveted by teams looking for help at wide receiver before the deadline.

TE Daniel Bellinger

Bellinger is another potential option to acquire via trade to add depth to the Lions’ tight end. After a strong first two years of his career, Bellinger caught just three assists this year despite being active in eight games.

W. R. K. J. Osborne

Osborne is a name that should be familiar to Lions fans due to his time in Minnesota with the Vikings. Now with the Patriots, Osborne has just seven catches for 57 yards in six games this season.

Last year, the Lions traded for the native of Detroit Donovan Peoples-Jones. Could they add an Ypsilanti native to Osborne this year? As the current situation with Jameson Williams develops, it will be possible to understand what will come on Tuesday.

OL Ben Cleveland

Cleveland would be another option to add depth to the offensive line, especially inside. He hasn’t been able to be a regular with the Baltimore Ravens, but there are ways for him to find his way with a new team elsewhere.

The lions there are veterans on the interior in Kevin Zeitler and Graham Glasgow, so having solid insurance in that area will be important as the season continues.

WR Kendrick Bourne

The Patriots are looking to close out the wins and play a young quarterback, Bourne may be a desirable asset. Injuries have hampered Bourne over the last two seasons, as he played in eight games last year and four so far this year.

If the Lions feel they are still missing something, a veteran like Bourne might make sense to reach out and try to acquire.
