Glen Eden murder: Man charged in west Oakland woman’s death

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in the west Auckland suburb of Glen Eden

Police were called to Brandon Street just after 11pm on Sunday to find a woman who had been stabbed multiple times.

She was taken to the hospital, but died soon after.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby of Waitemata CIB said a 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with her murder.

He will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Monday.

The police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death.

Boundaries remain in place and the scene is under investigation, Libby said.

“An increased police presence will remain in the area while investigations continue, however we do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the public.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and we extend our support to them at this tragic time.”
