Two dead after truck crashes into semi on Highway 831

Two people are dead after the truck they were in crashed into a semi on Highway 831 south of Wascatenau on Friday.

RCMP said the truck was traveling on the highway near the North Saskatchewan River Bridge when it hit a patch of ice and lost control.

It crashed with a semi-automatic, killing a 54-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman inside.

RCMP did not say the driver of the semi was injured.

No other details about the accident have been reported.

Wascatenau is approximately 80 kilometers northeast of Edmonton.
