The footage shows two women violently arguing with an elderly couple, one woman holding a dog on a leash. Once, during an argument, a woman suddenly slaps an elderly man, while his wife continues to speak. Despite attempts by the audience to defuse the situation, the woman continues to threaten, saying: “How dare you touch me? Aise Tappad marungi na tumko (I will slap you so hard).”

The person recording the video can be heard urging nearby residents to intervene and prevent further escalation.

Hindustan Times, however, could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

The police reported that a case of assault and intimidation was opened at the police department 113 based on the statement of an elderly man. However, since the girl apologized to him, the matter was resolved and on Friday morning the matter was closed.

Here’s what happened

The investigation revealed that around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, two sisters, residents of X Tower in the Hyde Park complex, were walking their dog in the society premises.

“When they were walking near the playground, one of the sisters, a law student, let the dog off the chain. When the residents noticed the dog roaming freely on the premises, they raised their concerns,” said the officer. The situation escalated when the dog approached the 3-year-old daughter of a resident of Tower V, causing them to scream in alarm.

The officer added that after the residents objected, the argument escalated, resulting in one of the sisters slapping the woman, who initially raised her voice. “When the woman’s in-laws arrived at the scene after hearing the commotion, they tried to calm the situation down,” the officer said, recalling that the elderly man was slapped twice when he tried to separate his daughter-in-law and sisters.

In response, the police were called by calling the emergency number 112, and the investigative and operative group of sector 113 arrived at the scene.

“We handed over all the CCTV footage and videos recorded by the residents to the police and escorted the elderly to the station,” said Amit Gupta, secretary, Hyde Park AOA.

Gupta said, “It is strictly forbidden to let dogs off in public places as it poses a risk to children. We were informed that two sisters live in a rented apartment. We contacted the owner of the apartment with a request to vacate the apartment immediately, as such violations are unacceptable.”

The Association of Apartment Owners is responding

The Association of Apartment Owners (AOA) responded to the incident by strongly disapproving of what they called the “unacceptable” actions of a tenant living in X702, which caused “concern to a retired family in the complex”.

In a statement, AOA said: “We strongly condemn the unacceptable behavior of tenant X702 which is causing distress to our dear pensioner family. Yesterday, the family filed an official complaint with the police with our full support and assistance. We have conclusive evidence. evidence, including CCTV footage, to assist the investigation.”

The statement also mentions plans to implement strict rules to avoid similar issues in the future, adding that the owner of the X702 has been notified, fully understands the situation and has issued a notice of resignation. “Our priority remains the safety, security and well-being of our seniors,” the statement said.
