A man who was found to be drunk and disorderly when he yelled and swore at the police was warned to follow the rules of conduct.

Ricky Lear, 36, of Ostlers Road, Downham, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct while under the influence of alcohol on September 21 when he appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Asif Akram, prosecuting, said Lear was unsteady on his feet in Bagge Road and police were called to remove him because he was being aggressive.

He was warned about his behaviour, but Lear continued to shout, swear and behave aggressively, leading to his arrest.

Mr Akram said Lear had a long criminal record, including previous public order offences, and had been sent to prison before.

Lear, who was not represented, said: “I don’t know what to say other than I’m sorry.

“I’ve been clean since I got out of prison. I gave up drugs and everything and it was just a stupid mistake.”

Magistrates gave Lear a six-month conditional discharge and warned him to stay out of trouble.

He was also ordered to pay £40 in court costs and £25 in victim compensation.
