Construction of the J Street Bridge | News, Sports, Work

PHOTO PROVIDED

The image shows what we believe to be the construction of the Jay Street Bridge over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in the 1980s. After the original wooden bridge was destroyed by fire in 1919, it was replaced by an iron bridge. In 1986, this bridge was demolished and replaced by the current Veterans Bridge, which crosses the river today.
