Chatham County man pleads guilty to distributing child pornography, sentenced to prison

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – A Chatham County man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to receiving child sexual abuse images.

David Jonathan Perry, 43, was sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison.

The task force received several CyberTip reports that identified child sexual abuse material stored on a Google account registered to Perry’s residence.

Investigators searched the residence and electronic devices, where they found thousands of images and videos of child pornography.

“Every time one of these images is shared or viewed, it re-exposes an innocent child and forces the healing process to begin all over again, which is why it is so important to stop those who distribute these disturbing images of abuse,” said Stephen N. Schrank, c. at. agent in charge of national security in Atlanta.
