Already a former Kenosha County Elementary School employee accused of sexual abuse of a childcharged with four new crimes in the case district prosecutor’s office announced on Friday.

Anna Marie Crocker, 33, worked at Riverview Elementary School in Silver Lake, the sheriff’s department said. She started as a substitute in 2020 and became a full-time teaching assistant the following year, according to information on the school district’s website. The Silver Lake-Salem Joint School District 1 board held a special meeting Oct. 14 to announce her termination.

New details of the case

Twin Lakes police spoke with the 13-year-old boy and his parents on Oct. 10, the day Crocker was formally charged. According to the amended criminal complaint, the victim said he told a staff member at the school that Crocker had been sending him inappropriate messages, including several videos of her having sex.

The victim said he initially thought it was a “training video” when he opened it and did not respond to the complaint, saying he was “too young for that.” The victim also said he was scared because he heard Crocker “rape” another minor.

A search of Crocker’s cell phone turned up several videos similar to those described by the victim, prosecutors said. He also revealed that Crocker added the victim on Snapchat in September and the two exchanged more than 200 messages, photos and videos in a matter of days.

A search of Crocker’s Snapchat data also revealed a conversation between her and a 16-year-old boy she added on the platform on Oct. 9 — the day before she was taken into custody, court documents said.

Reports revealed that she asked the victim if he wanted to have sex with her. She tried to arrange for the boy to come to her house on October 11 to have sex; she would eventually be in custody for that day. The victim told investigators that they talked about sex but never “went through.” He also said she sent him photos “that ‘guess’ the gender.”

Details of the previous case

According to the sheriff’s department, the alleged crimes involve a current student and a former student at the school.

Prosecutors said the alleged sexual assault happened last winter. The 13-year-old victim said he was at Crocker’s house for a sleepover and was sleeping in the basement when Crocker woke him up, pulled down his pants and sexually assaulted him. He said Crocker tried to hide, but the other children “saw what happened”.

According to the complaint, the victim said what happened was not consensual and he repeatedly told her to get off and tried to push her away, but she wouldn’t listen. At that time he was 12 years old.

Months later, the victim said he received a text message from Crocker telling him to apologize to her “for what happened in the basement,” the complaint says. He described it as her “trying to make him feel guilty”. She told him he couldn’t tell anyone what happened, he said.

Prosecutors said the 14-year-old also reported that Crocker “was inappropriate with him” and the two exchanged “sexual chats and photos” via Snapchat. He also said Crocker sexually assaulted him in a parking lot in August.

In an interview with a detective, the complaint says Crocker admitted to receiving a sex video from the 14-year-old victim and keeping it. She also admitted to sending the video to a student at the victim’s school. The detective seized and searched the phone, which contained the video in a password-protected section of the phone.
