A drunk driver crashed into a house

ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW) – A man was arrested Friday after he crashed into a home in Amherst Township while driving under the influence, authorities said.

According to the press release of Ohio State Highway Patroltroopers were called to the scene of a crash on State Route 113 at 4:36 a.m

At the scene, it was discovered that the car crashed into a residential building, which turned out to be deserted.

According to the release, the investigation revealed that Brian Ellis, 36, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on SR-113.

Ellis went left of center, went off the left shoulder and crashed into a house on Telegraph Road.

According to the release, Ellis was not injured in the crash “but was found to be under the influence of alcohol.”

Ellis was arrested for driving under the influence. He was then taken to the Lorain County Jail, the release said.

As a result of the accident, the 47-year-old passenger in Ellis’ car received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to University Hospital in Elyria for treatment, the release said.

According to the report, none of the passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
