Daimler Truck Australia Pacific has released details of the Fuso Canter’s new look and updated multimedia unit.

The Canter now has a new exterior design with LED headlights that are 30 percent brighter. There are also LED turn signals on the lower door sections.

It also features a new bumper and a redesigned grille topped by a black strip with the Fuso badge. This styling element is called the Black Belt design, which matches the recently introduced next-generation all-electric eCanter.

Fuso kept the Canter line’s engine and transmission largely separate, save for some minor internal changes and a slightly larger crankcase on select models. Modern interior design remains unchanged.

Taking customer feedback into account, the 8-inch multimedia device has undergone a major upgrade, now adding Apple and Android wireless connectivity, eliminating any need for cables and adapters.

The multimedia unit has improved processor and memory performance, as well as built-in additional features. It displays video from the rear-view camera, which is standard on all Canter models, and the screen can also display video from five additional cameras.

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific vice president of sales, marketing and operations Andrew Assimo said: “The Fuso Canter has long been a fantastic business case thanks to its best-in-class payload capacity and 30,000km service interval,” he said.

“This update really adds to its appeal, and we know the new features will be welcomed by our customers.”

All Canter models, including the FG 4×4 Canter, have received an update that comes with a new facelift.

Fuso was the first brand to introduce Advanced Emergency Braking System, or AEBS, to its light truck lineup in 2019, and the system, along with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), is standard on all Canters except the off-road-oriented 4× . 4.
