A pair of teenagers were shot and wounded in a shooting outside a McDonald’s restaurant on the Upper West Side on Halloween night, authorities and law enforcement officials said.

Police and sources said the two victims, ages 17 and 19, were killed near 72nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue Thursday around 6:30 p.m.

Law enforcement sources said both were hospitalized in stable condition, while the 19-year-old was on his way to Mount Sinai for treatment.

Witnesses described chaos as gunshots rang out in a normally safe part of Manhattan on a holiday night.

Witness Hugo Souza told ABC 7 Five to six people, including one victim, fled inside the McDonald’s when the shooting began.

According to him, the victim’s friends took off their shirts and tightly wrapped the young man’s leg with clothes.

“They were panicking,” another witness, Melanie Mate, told the station.

“One of the boys was calling someone that their friend had shot himself. Some called 911. The police arrived within minutes.”

A local resident who lives nearby had just returned from playing with his 5-year-old child when he heard the shooting.
