A bank and Thai restaurant are the latest planned retail additions to a Falls Church development project.

Chase Bank and Dok Khao Thai Restaurant they are expected to join the Western waterfall Developer Hoffman & Associates announced this month in April and August 2025.

The news comes as the first phase of the 10-acre project, which includes an apartment building, an office building, two parking garages and a hotel, nears completion, with about 75% of the available retail space now leased.

“We are excited to welcome Dok Khao and Chase Bank to West Falls as we near the completion of this vibrant neighborhood,” Hoffman & Associates President Maria Thompson said in a press release. “These new additions underscore our commitment to developing a community where people can gather, enjoy a variety of dining options and access to the neighborhood’s most desirable neighborhoods.”

The bank is slated to open at 118 W. Falls Station Blvd, and the restaurant will occupy the adjacent 180 W. Falls Station Blvd.

The first phase of the massive West Falls project is expected to be completed in early 2025, Thompson said. The final project includes approximately 142,100 square feet of retail space.

“We’ve made a lot of progress, with construction slated to be largely complete next month,” she said. “The traffic improvements will be largely completed in March 2025.”

Additionally, The Fresh Market grocery store, which previously did not have a specific opening date, is now expected to open by the end of 2026, Thompson said.

On the residential side, Thompson said the newly built apartments at The Alder will have their first residents by the end of the year, while the condominiums at The Oak have “attracted significant interest from potential buyers.”

Construction on the new seniors’ home, The Reserve, is expected to begin in early 2025.

Construction of Phase 2 of the project will add a second office building and more apartments. The start date of the second phase has not yet been announced.

“I can’t express how excited we are to see this project come to fruition,” Thompson said. “I am very proud of our project team, contractors, partners, and the invaluable support and cooperation of the City of Falls Church…This is more than just a place to live or visit—it is a place where people can come together, interact and thrive .”
