Taipei, Taiwan (AP) – gas explosion in department store in Taiwan Four people were killed on Thursday and 26 were injured, the fire bodies reported.

The explosion occurred in the Food on the 12th floor of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store in Thaychung, the Thaiun Fire Service Bureau reported.

Among the dead were two people who visited Macao, Macao’s tourist office confirmed on Thursday. Local media reported that they were part of a family of seven who were there for tourism. The other five were also injured, now treated at local hospitals in Thaihung.

Dozens of firefighters were placed at the scene at about 11:30 in the morning, parts of the building were damaged and scattered fragments were scattered on the streets.

Mayor Thaihun Lu Shiou-Yen told reporters at the scene that feels shock in his office nearby. She said that the Fire Bureau would focus on the rescue operation at first, but the investigation also lasted, and the officers checked whether there were other sources of danger.
